the contents of this site feature the mundane, banal humdrum of my everyday life. you will NOT find news coverage, in-depth analyses or anything of noteworthy significance. i indulge in being a drama queen and making mountains of molehills. acknowledge such bouts of exaggeration for what they truly are- pockets of worthless hot air. or trviality frivolity.

SO MANY WOHS!!!

ray's finally back from shanghai!!!

to make up for his neglect of me, he brought me to the "live tortoise and turtle museum" at chinese garden. is it me or is there something very wrong with its name?

the place is owned and managed by a father-daughter duo, who have very nobly devoted their lives to tortoises and turtles.

as we went inside, we checked out their tortoise/turtle-related memorabilia, which is hyper-impressive.

there were shelves and shelves of wooden turtles, stone turtles, glass turtles, crystal turtles, gold turtles... turtle posters, turtle earrings, turtle brooches, turtle teeshirts, turtle plushies, turtle pictureframes, turtle teapots, turtle ashtrays... you get the idea... i didn't take too many pictures because there were just too many shelves! plus i thought the shelves could have with some tidying. hohoho.

gold turtle jewellery.

i have that orange and green picture frame!

i have doudous too!!!

it's really quite amusing.
我有的,他们也有。 他们有的,我没有。
(whatever i have, they have. whatever they have, i don't have)
except for cutie-woh! cutie-woh is one of a kind.

moving on, we got to see something a little more exciting- the tortoises and turtles!

chinese striped-neck turtles.

affectionate turtle.

it wants a snog!

this is a two-headed turtle with six legs.

it's really the result of a genetic mutation which occurs less than once every ten million live turtle births.

aldebra grass tortoise?

humping woh!

terrapins.

yellow spotted feet tortoise.

albino turtle.

this one is rare and very valuable.
'golden turtles' are believed to bring good luck and longevity to its owners.

mighty mighty woh.

look at those fatty thighs! just like cutiewoh's!

red spotted feet tortoise.

snakehead turtle.

the pig-nose flying turtle.

i love this.
it's really cute when it flaps its flippers. it looks like it's flying.

pig-nose flying turtle showing its lovely pink mouth.

we took more than ten pictures for a decent shot of its open mouth.
that's just as well though.
scrolling the saved images fast enough is like watching a video.

very inquisitive turtle.

i like.

snapping turtle.

doesn't it look like something?
now you know why turtles are reptiles, and not like, crustaceans?

ALLIGATOR TURTLE!

AND YOU THOUGHT THE SNAPPING TURTLE LOOKED LIKE ONE!!!

burmese star tortoise.

leaf turtle.

this one has a very unique, flat shape for its head.
it cannot retract is head into its shell so this leafy camouflage is its only protection from predators.

i was watching animal planet the other day and saw a video of a shark eating a turtle. that turtle couldn't retract its head into its shell too. how depressing. i mean i love sharks and all, but, sometimes they need to be a little more discriminate. can't they feed on less endangered creatures? and those with higher meat:mass ratios???

moving on some more, the excitement level skyrocketed.
as we got down and dirty with the wohs!

the great exodus.

look! they are all migrating!

to the promised land...

of milk and honey.

what do they worship?

whose feet do they bow down to?

MINE!!!

i so love playing God.

here's a tortoise minding its own business!

and we just had to go disturb the camera-shy thing.

nice stone tortoises.

hey there, gorgeous!

what are you so excited about?

what can i say? i so have a way with tortoises.

but don't like that la, i shy!

it was starving!

famished!

ravenous!

hungry!

greedy!

and full.

all in five minutes!

african spurred tortoises!

i tossed a coin and wished for my very own woh!

aren't you impressed with their hobby?

the guinness people were!

the visit taught me loads about tortoises and turtles. i used to think turtles and tortoises were withdrawn, reclusive and undemonstrative. then i got to experience their natural curiosity and responsiveness firsthand. they really are the most charming creatures.

on the way out, ray and i saw some posters for the museum. being the critical shit that i am, i could not help remarking that 'they need help' with their advertising and promotion. and ray gave me a brainwave! he said i could do something about their advertising in exchange for a turtle adoption, whereby they continue to take care of my turtle but my name gets to be on the turtle's tank, as an "adopted by chong wan'er" sorta sign! and then i will get free entry to that place to see my turtle! so genius right? i love you baby! you are so brilliant!

you know what? i think i will do just that.
looks like my wish is gonna come true after all.
hohohohohohohohohohohohohohohohohohohohohohohoho!!!

..................................................................................

one more thing...

a big thank-you to everyone that has been donating spankings!
i feel so loved... ^_^

spanks and kisses to you too!
